Change in Board of Directors of AVEBE U.A.
May 2, 2007
VEENDAM, THE NETHERLANDSOkke Koo, chairman of the Board of Directors of AVEBE U.A. has, for personal reasons, decided to leave the company per Aug. 1, 2007. In an earlier stage, he informed the Supervisory Board that the financial year 2006 to 2007 would be his last year at AVEBE. This also because of the fact that he expected that at the end of this financial year, the strategic reconstruction would have been completed and all other elements of the strategic plan would have been started up.
The Supervisory Board very much regrets Koos departure. The Board is very grateful for his dedication and highly appreciates the way in which he has succeeded in regaining the confidence in the company of all parties concerned. As a result of the successful strategic reconstruction, the company now has more healthy and more profitable future prospects.
AVEBEs Supervisory Board has the intention to appoint G. H. (Gert Hein) de Heer as new chairman of the Board of Directors per Aug. 1, 2007. de Heer is 42 years old and has studied economics at the University of Groningen. He started his career in 1990 at Wavin B.V., a producer of synthetic pipe systems, where he has held various commercial positions in Holland and Spain. In 1995, he continued his career at Holland Colours N.V., a listed company producing colouring systems for plastics, where he has held various leading positions in the United States and Holland. From 2000 until 2006, he was president of Holland Colours Group.
Since 2003, de Heer is a member of the Supervisory Board of Monuta Holding N.V. He is also nominated as a member of the Supervisory Board of BDU Holding B.V. per May 2007. Per 1 June 2007, de Heer will be employed by AVEBE; this will ensure a good transfer of activities. The Supervisory Board and AVEBE wish de Heer a lot of success in this challenging position.
