CRN Adds Five Members

WASHINGTONFive new members joined the Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN); the new voting members include International Vitamin Corporation, Freehold, NJ; Nutraceuticals International LLC, Elmwood Park, NJ; and NOW Foods, Bloomingdale, IL, and the new associate members include Amin Talati LLC, Chicago; and Bent Creek Institute Inc., Asheville, NC.

International Vitamin Corporation (IVC) is a privately held, global supplier and contract manufacturer of dietary supplements and prescription drugs.  IVC's primary focus is on the development, manufacturing and packaging of private-label/store-brand products in tablet, soft gel and capsule formats for food, drug, mass and club retailers.

NOW Foods is a family-owned company that manufactures and distributes dietary supplements, natural foods and personal care products. The firm, founded more than 40 years ago by Elwood Richard, aims to provide value in products and services that empower people to lead healthier lives.

Nutraceuticals International is a global supplier of specialty natural ingredients for the nutraceutical, cosmeceutical, pharmaceutical and pet food industries. Founded in 2007, Nutraceuticals International serves as an ingredient supplier to industry traders, brokers and manufacturers around the world.

 Amin Talati is a law firm comprising attorneys focused on law related to FDA, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and intellectual property. The firm specializes in labeling and advertising compliance, Proposition 65, patents, trademarks, licensing, business contracts, dispute resolution and litigation.  

Bent Creek Institute (BCI) is a nonprofit affiliate program of The North Carolina Arboretum and Bent Creek Germplasm Repository (BCGR), which is an independent medicinal botanical seed bank and research laboratory. BCI administers the U.S. Botanical Safety Laboratory (USBSL), a nonprofit analytical lab consortium based in North Carolina, which is focused on botanical quality and safety, performing complete botanical identity testing services for government, academic, and corporate clients.

CRN, founded in 1973, is a trade association representing dietary supplement manufacturers and ingredient suppliers. CRN companies produce a large portion of the dietary supplements marketed in the United States and globally. Our member companies manufacture popular national brands as well as the store brands marketed by major supermarkets, drug store and discount chains. These products also include those marketed through natural food stores and mainstream direct selling companies. In addition to complying with a host of federal and state regulations governing dietary supplements in the areas of manufacturing, marketing, quality control and safety, its more than 75manufacturer and supplier members also agree to adhere to additional voluntary guidelines as well as CRNs Code of Ethics.
