WASHINGTONThe Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN) is now a sustaining member of the American Society for Nutrition (ASN), a non-profit organization that brings together nearly 4,000 of the worlds top nutrition researchers, clinical nutritionists and industry to advance the knowledge and application of nutrition.

ASN is proud to welcome CRN as a sustaining member, and greatly looks forward to a long and productive partnership, said John E. Courtney, Ph.D., ASNs executive officer. CRN has continued to demonstrate outstanding leadership in the dietary supplement industry, and we are eager to find new ways to collaborate in advancing nutrition research and practice.

CRN has been an active partner of ASN since 2008, as sponsor of the Mary Swartz Rose Awards. The awards recognize outstanding research on the safety and efficacy of bioactive compounds for human health. CRN is extremely supportive of ASNs work, said Andrew Shao, Ph.D., CRNs senior vice president, scientific & regulatory affairs, and longtime member of ASN. With so much emphasis these days on the role of proper nutrition in healthy living, it is extremely valuable to be able to participate in a community of well-respected nutrition researchers whose objectives to shape nutrition science and policy are consistent with ours.
