Cytodyne Assists in Investigation of Counterfeit Xenadrineon eBay

MANASQUAN, N.J.--Cytodyne Technologies worked with lawenforcement officials in Miami after learning counterfeit bottles of itsXenadrine product were being sold on eBay. The investigation resulted in thearrest of Patrick Jacquemin and Andrea Spiegelberg, who allegedly had 8,000bottles of counterfeit Xenadrine RFA-1 worth an estimated $800,000 in theirpossession.

"Cytodyne works hand in hand with several law enforcement agencies in investigating and prosecuting those responsible for counterfeiting Cytodyneproducts," said Shane Freedman, general counsel for Cytodyne (www.cytodyne.com).According to the company, the false products did not have the hologram on thelabels, and the ingredients were different than those used in the Xenadrineproduct. It added that apparently the counterfeit product was sold only over theInternet.
