Degussa Acquires Genset Oligos

DUSSELDORF, Germany--Degussa Group acquired Genset Oligos, the oligonucleotide division of Genset S.A. in Paris, for $21.5 million and planned to merge it with Proligo, Degussa's Boulder, Colo., subsidiary. The merger will make Proligo a fully integrated supplier of nucleic acid specialties to the ultra fine chemicals market.

In addition, Degussa's U.S. nutraceutical supplier, Degussa BioActives, announced a relaunch of its Web site. The newly designed site (www.degussa-bioactives.com) allows users to subscribe for automatic e-mail updates on industry and company news. The site also offers general information on the company's three business segments--functional foods, dietary supplements and special nutrition.
