DSEA Releases Generate National Coverage

WASHINGTON--The Dietary Supplement Education Alliance (DSEA), an industry-funded organization designed to generate positive coverage about dietary supplements, announced its press releases have received extensive media play. For example, the story about supplement labeling generated 172 newspaper articles in 18 different states with a readership of more than 7.5 million persons. Other releases have examined DSEA's launch/Web site (84 articles, 5.4 million readership) and the impact of stress on health (56 articles, 2.2 million readership).

"Positive, accurate media coverage provides the vital consumer education that allows our industry to grow," said Jon Benninger, group publisher of Virgo Publishing and the secretary/treasurer of DSEA (www.supplementinfo.org). "These successes are only the beginning of this industry-wide effort."
