AALESUND, Norway—EPAX AS received the 2008 Frost & Sullivan Excellence in Product Quality Award in the European omega-3 ingredients market, recognizing the company’s ongoing commitment to meeting and exceeding global purity and safety standards, with particular attention paid to the launch in 2007 of the concept “Purity Beyond Expectation.” Austevoll Seafood ASA acquired EPAX in 2007, allowing for vertical integration of the raw material chain and full oversight of the quality assurance and production process.

“EPAX AS has consistently been a purity and quality leader in the omega-3 market, as both product quality and consumer safety are key elements to which the company is committed,” said Thomas Gulbrandsen, sales and marketing director, EPAX. “We look forward to continuing to implement our Purity Beyond Expectation concept and leverage our vertical integration, allowing our customers to receive the highest quality fish oil in the world.”

In addition to the strategic acquisition to guarantee raw material quality and introducing revolutionary purification technology, Frost & Sullivan recognized EPAX for demonstrating leadership ability in product quality control, establishing success in achieving superior product quality and participating in trade fairs to demonstrate product quality leadership. Joe Nivas, director of best practices, Frost & Sullivan, said, “EPAX has attained a pioneering position in the market through its dedicated efforts in introducing new and improved product quality control parameters and procedures.”
