Fuji Facilities Safe from Japan Catastrophe

BURLINGTON, N.J.Fuji Chemical Industry Co. Ltd.s production facilities were not in danger and did not sustain any damage from the earthquake and following tsunami that struck on March 11, 2011, according to Fuji Health Science Inc. Fuji's headquarters and production facilities are located in Toyama Prefecture, which is in a different area of Japan on the western side of the central mountain range unaffected by the current quake and resulting disaster.  Fuji also maintains its natural astaxanthin production facility for the AstaREAL product line, located in Gustavsberg, Sweden.

In a letter of thanks and reassurance to the trade, Mitsunori Nishida, president and CEO of Fuji Chemical expressed his gratitude to the multitude of people and companies expressing sympathy and concern for the embattled country of Japan.  In his letter, Nishida also stated, "A part of our nation is battling to control the energy situation, restore basic resources and provide emergency relief. We will do our part for the country and continue to operate our business as best we can under these exceptional circumstances."

 Fuji Chemical is a Japanese pharmaceutical company that also produces ingredients which are marketed globally to the pharmaceutical, dietary supplement, food and personal care industries.
