FutureCeuticals, Inc. and Comax Flavors announced a strategic collaboration that will bring flavor and nutritional ingredients together for the food and beverage industries.

"Offering turn-key solutions that combine strong science as well as great taste will benefit food manufacturers as they can leverage prototypes based on consumer insight, nutritional trends and supporting science for product differentiation and speed to market," stated Colleen Zammer, Director of Sales at FutureCeuticals.

Both companies are currently supplying value-added products to the nutrition and functional food markets, and see this sector as an area of significant growth in the future.

The focus of this collaboration will be on popular segments such as beverages and confections that are strong delivery vehicles for functional ingredients.

When asked to comment on the benefit of this collaboration for customers, Dr. John L. Cavallo, President of Comax Flavors stated, "This collaboration reflects a leading edge approach combining two strong players supporting the Health and Wellness product segment. Our future product offerings will provide customers with 'value-added solutions' combining functional ingredients and flavors."

According to Catherine Armstrong, Vice President of Marketing at Comax, "The joint benefits of FutureCeuticals and Comax working together will allow us to stay ahead of the curve in our approach to the functional food market. Customers are looking for healthy real food benefits and now we are in the best possible position to meet their needs."

FutureCeuticals, Inc (Momence, IL, www.futureceuticals.com), a primary processor and developer of natural nutraceutical ingredients and technologies, and Comax Flavors (Melville, NY, www.comaxflavors.com), manufacturers of liquid and dry flavorings and masking technologies are both family-owned and privately held companies.

This similar structure makes the two companies a strong fit for collaboration, and will provide easy access and prompt turn around for customers.

The companies will be displaying their first functional prototypes at SupplySide West, Booth #15015 on October 23-24 in Las Vegas, NV.
