Glanbia, Conaprole Join Forces

KILKENNY, Ireland--Glanbia plc announced astrategic alliance with Conaprole, based in Uruguay, to develop dairy ingredientsales in Latin American and African markets, and to promote technology transferbetween the companies. Under the 50/50 joint venture, a new sales company--Conabia--isbeing established in Mexico to develop commercial opportunities for dairyingredients manufactured by Conaprole in Uruguay and by Glanbia in the UnitedStates and Europe. Conabia will initially serve markets in Mexico, theCaribbean, and Central and South America. In addition, Glanbia receivesexclusive rights to promote Conaprole whole milk powders in Africa. Also as partof the agreement, Conaprole will participate in a technology transfer programfrom Glanbia to optimize processing capabilities and develop new technologies.The agreement also allows for joint venture manufacturing where opportunitiesarise.
