GNC Signs Diamondback Gonzalez

PHOENIX--The General Nutrition Company (GNC) (www.gnc.com) hassigned Arizona Diamondback left-fielder Luis Gonzalez as a spokesperson, according to The Arizona Republic. Gonzalez, who won the All-Star Gameshome run derby and is second after the San Francisco Giants Barry Bonds formost home runs in the major leagues this year, signed a one-year contract withGNC to make appearances and have his likeness used on product promotions. Thedeal is said to be in the low six figures.

If he hadnt already taken GNC products for the past few years, he wouldnever have taken this sponsorship, said Mark Clayton, Gonzalez marketingagent. I would say that these products have helped keep him physically fitover the years.
