DUBLIN, Calif.—Hoodia Products International Inc. (Pink Sheets:HDIA) announced April 2006 sales of its Hoodia gordonii plant-based products declined 16-percent to $4,715 from $5,591 sold in March. However, fiscal 2006 year-to-date sales of $15,822 are ahead of last year’s pace by more than 18 percent. Management attributed the April sales declines to the scheduled airings of product spots, which fell towards the end of the month and reduced capacity compared to March. It expects to resume positive sales growth in May.

The company (www.hoodiaproducts.com) has begun selling its POWERSLIM hoodia product on Ebay, which also contains listings for numerous other hoodia products. The company has decided to sell its POWERSLIM hoodia for a reduced price to encourage initial sales. It has also begun a nationwide public relations radio campaign, including more than 100 interviews with Kedric Van de Carr, president of Hoodia, and Jacob V.O. Mullins, chief executive officer (CEO).
