ATLANTAHuber Engineered Materials (HEM), part of J.M. Huber Corp., announced a price increase for its Health and Nutrition business units calcium nutritional product portfolio. Affected products include HuberCal® calcium carbonate powder, calcium carbonate granulations, oyster shell powder and oyster shell granulations.

Prices will increase up to 12 percent, dependent upon product grade and form, and will go into effect Jan. 1, 2008, or as current contracts allow. According to the company, continued productivity improvements and production efficiencies are unable to offset increases in energy, raw materials costs and rising investments in meeting regulatory requirements.
