IFT Calls 2003 Show Another Success

CHICAGOMore than 20,000 registered attendees took in over 1,000 exhibitor booths during the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) annual meeting and Food Expo held here in July. IFTs final figures indicated attendance was 20,707 for the five-day event, an increase of more than 2,500 over 2002 attendance and the second largest total in the events 63- year history. Additionally, exhibiting companies donated 9,850 pounds of food to the Greater Chicago Food Depository at the conclusion of the show, bringing the six-year donated food total to 95,000 pounds.

The 2004 Annual Meeting and Food Expo is scheduled for July 12 to 16 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Future shows are on tap for New Orleans (2005), Orlando, Fla. (2006), and Chicago (2007).
