Integrated Biomolecule Expands Services

TUCSON, Ariz.IBC Labs, the analytical division of Integrated Biomolecule Corp., opened its new ICP-MS laboratory. Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry is used to test minerals and metals to confirm raw material product specifications, finished product label claims and the absence of heavy metal contamination. IBC offers this service with its standard two- to three-day turnaround.

Also, the company formed a research institute to conduct nutritional supplement clinical studies. Many in the supplement industry would like to conduct clinical studies but are deterred by the daunting, time-consuming and costly process, said Scott M. Bolhack, M.D., the institutes medical director. We are developing an expeditious and cost-effective system to provide these services.

To accommodate its growth, the construction of Integrated Biomolecules new laboratory facility is underway. The 18,000-square-foot smart building will feature a state-of-the-art laboratory information system and robotics, and is scheduled to open in late 2003.
