Integrity Nutraceuticals Working on Cinnamon Actives

SARASOTA, Fla.IntegrityNutraceuticals International (www.integritynut.com) announced it has beenworking with Richard Anderson, Ph.D., a research scientist with the U.S.Department of Agriculture, to verify and quantify the active components incinnamon. According to the company, it plans to submit thequantification method to AOAC International for review and approval.

Integrity Nutraceuticals markets Cinnulin PF®,a patented water extract of cinnamon; the companys tests have shown theextract contains two trimers and one tetramer classified as A-type polymers. CinnulinPF also contains double linked polymers compared to single linked activecomponents, said Tim Romero, vice president of Integrity Nutraceuticals. Eventhough it is classified as Cinnamomum cassia,not all of the barks included in this botanical class contain the doublelinkage.
