Kemin, AVT Keep Flowers Flowing

DES MOINES, Iowa—Kemin Industries signed a long-term strategic partnership agreement with AVT Natural Products Ltd., locking in its supply chain for quality marigold oleoresin. AVT Natural, Kerala, India, grows the marigold flowers and extracts the oleoresin, which Kemin uses to product its patented, purified lutein, FloraGLO®. Under terms of the agreement, the companies are exclusive purchaser and supplier of the oleoresin for production of FloraGLO crystalline lutein; FloraGLO products are available for dietary supplement, food and OTC formulation.

Last year, Kemin announced a similar exclusive alliance with DSM, whereby Kemin exclusively supplies FloraGLO to DSM, and both companies collaborate on research initiatives.
