ALLENDALE, N.J.--LaneLabs announced it has stopped production and sale of a total of five product brands, following a district court ruling that the products had been misbranded and improperly marketed. The judge ordered the company to immediately suspend manufacturing and distribution of BeneFin, MGN3 and SkinAnswer; LaneLabs also discontinued sales of Noxylane4 and SunSpotES, as the products contain ingredients found in the contested products.

LaneLabs (www.lanelabs.com) issued a statement on the court's decision. "The judge's order does not affect product that was sold by LaneLabs prior to the ruling, nor does it bar distributors, retailers and health care professionals from selling product procured from LaneLabs prior to July 9, 2004," the statement reads. "There is no product recall and the ruling contains no statements regarding the activity or safety of BeneFin, MGN3 and SkinAnswer. The ruling is entirely focused on LaneLabs' marketing claims relating to these products." Also in the statement, the company said it would pursue an appeal, and is planning product introductions for the near future.
