Loders Croklaan Opens New Plant
CHANNAHON, Ill.LodersCroklaan (www.croklaan.com) opened a new oil processing factory in Channahon,Ill., expanding the companys existing Channahon facility by 10,000 squarefeet and its storage capability by 200 percent. The new factory doublesthroughput, features a state-of-the-art bleaching line that boosts capacity by400 percent, and adds a new oil in-line blending capability that increases bulkcapacity by 100 percent.
The pending FDA requirement for food manufacturers to labeltrans fat content on all products has driven unprecedented demand for functionalpalm oil-based alternatives, said Donald Grubba, president, Loders CroklaanNorth America.
