Making the Most of Networking Events

All work and no play would make trade shows very dull affairs indeed.Luckily, SupplySide East offered not only information-heavy seminars andopportunity-laden show floor hours, but also networking opportunities in theguise of receptions and parties. In fact, Virgo Publishing thanked its attendeesand exhibitors for their support by holding three networking events over thecourse of the three-day trade show and conference.

The International Welcome Reception kicked off the event and followed thesatisfying rounds of golf played at the 5th Annual SupplySide East Golf Classic.Taking a break from setting up booths, exhibitors popped up at the event, whichoffered food, free drink and a well-lit environment at the Atrium in the HartzBuilding.

The next evening, the Opening Reception, which was hosted by Natural HealthScience (NHS), Roche Vitamins and Virgo Publishing, was held concurrently in theHartz Building and Embassy Suites. The industry is led by people, and it istherefore important to provide a pleasant environment to exchange views, experiences and visions with other members of this industry, said VictorFerrari, chief operating officer of Horphag Research, the parent company of NHS.The Opening Reception gave NHS a wonderful platform to meet with its friends, customers and colleagues. We are looking forward to the next show in Las Vegas.

The show ended on a food-filled note with the Appreciation Party, which tookplace in the exhibit hall during the last hour of the show. Offering an array ofpalatable goodies for hungry and tired trade show attendees and exhibitors, theparty was co-sponsored by NSF International.I think the Appreciation Partywas a nice way to close the show, said NSFs Kathy Pompliano. It gaveboth exhibitors and attendees something to look forward to after a busy day.

Virgo was more than pleased with the parties. Throwing these parties is agreat way for us to show we value our exhibitor and attendee support, saidDana Hicks, Virgos group trade show manager. These parties are always agreat way to get everyone to relax, compare industry notes and drum up morebusiness.
