Mancini Leaves GNC

PITTSBURGH--GNC Corp. announced Louis Mancini, its president and chief executive officer (CEO), resigned on Dec. 2 to pursue personal interests. Robert J. DiNicola, who was recently appointed executive chairman of the board, will serve as interim CEO. Kerson Partners, an executive search firm, is conducting a review of internal and external candidates for the CEO position.

Mancini's history with GNC extends back to 1977, with a four-year break in the early 2000s to do consulting work and serve as president of Omni Nutraceuticals. He returned to GNC in January 2003 as executive vice president and chief marketing officer, and was promoted to the president and CEO position when GNC was purchased by Apollo Marketing in December of that year.
