Clinical Evaluation of Herbal Extracts on Cardiovascular Health and Facial Beauty

HIROSHIMA, Japan--Botanicals may offer cosmetic companies a way to provide anti-aging formulas to consumers. Yasuhiro Matano, chief of Maruzen's overseas sales department, will address botanicals including alpinia leaf, lotus seed and purple hull rice. In addition, Matano will discuss clinical studies on Monacolin, a red rice extract that may lower total and LDL cholesterol, and Yacon, which may suppress the elevation of blood sugar after meals.
