SILVER SPRING, Md. Michael McGuffin, president of the American Herbal Products Association has been named the winner of the Nutrition Business Journal (NBJ) 2011 Efforts on Behalf of the Industry Award. McGuffin was chosen from more than 215 people nominated for the award, which will be presented along with other awards at the 2012 NBJ Summit this summer.  NBJ said its Business Achievement Awards recognize the industry's brightest stars and key players as they broaden the impact and reputation of nutrition as a true steward of health and wellness.

McGuffin said he is honored and humbled by this award announcement and suggested the award goes as much to AHPA. "The award is the culmination of and reflects the 30 years of service that AHPA has provided the natural products industry," he said. "In many ways, it represents the dedication and 'efforts on behalf of the industry' of the AHPA staff, board of trustees, committees, and general membership. I'd like to thank the folks at New Hope for this great honor."
