MTC Adds Taurine Production Line

EDGEWOOD, N.Y.MTC Industries completed construction of a state-of-the-art taurine production line at its joint venture operation in Changshu, China. The facility was audited by the Chinese Food and Drug Adminsitration and is now registered with the countrys GMP (good manufacturing practice) program. Estimated annual capacity of the new production line is 100,000 metric tons. In addition, MTC used a new technique utilizing monoethanolamine as the starting materials for production.
