WHITE PLAINS, N.Y.—Dietary supplement users are expanding their horizons beyond multis, according to a new survey from ConsumerLab.com. After tallying the responses of 6,000 dietary supplement users, the company found almost 74 percent were using multivitamins, followed by fish oil (71.6 percent), calcium (55.3 percent) and coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10; 50.9 percent). Interestingly, respondents who use more than 10 supplements a day are more apt to use fish oil (84.8 percent) than multis (75.5 percent).

ConsumerLab also asked about leading brands in various distribution channels, with the highest satisfaction ratings going to Puritan’s Pride (catalogue/Internet), Nutrilite (MLM), Nature Made (mass market), Barlean’s (health food) and Vitamin World (vitamin store).
