Naturex Acquires BruciaPlant Extracts
MAMARONECK, N.Y.--Naturex Inc. acquired the business and assets of Shingle Springs, Calif.-based Brucia Plant Extracts in January. The exact details of the transaction were not disclosed, though Naturex noted it was in the range of $10 million.
Naturex (www.naturex.com) is the U.S. subsidiary of the publicly traded French company Naturex SA, a supplier of natural ingredients to the flavor, food and nutraceutical industries. The Brucia addition means the American market will now represent 60 percent of its business, compared to 40 percent before the acquisition. Naturex expects to turn in 2002 sales of more than 30 million euros, almost double its 2001 sales.
