SINGAPORE—EAS released a new guide to help companies looking to market nutritional products in Asia. “Marketing Health Supplements, Fortified & Functional Foods in Asia: Legislation and Practice” was developed by experts in the firm's Asian office, and offers insights on regulations concerning supplements and functional foods, fortification guidelines, botanical applications, labeling requirements, health claim issues and the ongoing regulatory harmonization process.

“Rules differ among the different Asian countries on many aspects relating to food and nutritional products, from the use of certain nutrients and herbal ingredients in health supplements and fortified or functional foods, to notification and registration requirements,” said Daniel Tsi, regional director of EAS Asia in Singapore and one of the guide’s authors. “Our guide gives companies the necessary information to understand the existing and emerging legislative regulatory frameworks in many key Asian markets, so that their regulatory strategies ensure the commercial success of their products.”
