NNFA Sets 68th Annual Trade Show

LAS VEGASThe NationalNutritional Foods Association (NNFA) officially announced its 68th annual tradeshow and convention will take place July 15 to 17 in Las Vegas. It will be heldat the Sands Expo and Convention Center and The Venetian Resort Hotel; more than450 exhibitors are expected to be on hand.

The theme of this years show, Creating HealthTogether, aptly describes what NNFAs annual industry show has always beenabout, said Gary Barrows, president of Bluebonnet Nutrition and this yearsNNFA convention committee chairman. NNFAs show is an annual opportunityfor buyers and sellers of natural products to come together as a dedicatedcommunity aimed at creating a healthier America.

NNFA also announced the winners of its annual awards, whichwill be presented during the show. The Presidents Award will go to RobertUllman, a partner in Ullman, Shapiro & Ullman and founder of Bass &Ullman, which served as NNFA legal counsel for many years. Richard Anderson,Ph.D., lead scientist at the Beltsville Human Nutrition Center, will receive theBurton Kallman Scientific Award. The Rachel Carson Environmental Award will goto Philip J. Landrigan, M.D., who has been active in the area of pesticides andchildrens health. The NNFA Crusader Awards, designed to honor individuals whohave made notable contributions to the industry, will go to Susan Haegar, NewHope Natural Media; Aubrey Hampton, Aubrey Organics; Jim Hopper, Tree of Life;Carol Simontacchi; and Mark Stowe, Nutrition Cottage Inc. NNFAs ClinicianAwards were awarded to Sidney Baker, M.D., and herbalist Christopher Hobbs.Finally, the Socially Responsible Retailer Awards will be presented to TheFruitful Yield stores in Illinois, Rainbow Blossom Inc. in Kentucky, and PCCNatural Markets in Washington.
