BLOOMINGDALE, Ill.NOW Foods will expand its existing Bloomingdale manufacturing facility by adding a 116,000-square-feet building. The addition will house its administrative offices, freeing up space to increase its manufacturing operations.

NOW manufacturers and distributes more than 1,500 dietary supplements, natural foods, sports nutrition and personal care products. The company began in 1968, and it has since grown to more than 600 employees with products around the globe.

The original 263,000-square-feet building houses a temperature- and pressure-controlled warehouse, storage and refrigeration areas, and several in-house laboratories. FDA inspected the facility in 2010 and found no violations. The company was GMP (good manufacturing practice) certified by the Natural Products Association (NPA) in 2000. It earned its recertification in 2009.
