PHOENIX--Jane Brody, the personal health columnist for The New York Times, will be the keynote speaker at the SupplySide East International Trade Show and Conference May 7 to 9. Brody's keynote address is sponsored by Traco Labs/SKW Bioactives and will be delivered May 8, at 11 am in the Meadowlands Exposition Center in Secaucus, NJ.

"As a key voice of the popular press, Jane Brody should prove to be a speaker of interest to absolutely everyone in our industry," said Harlee Sorkin, vice president of Traco Labs. "She has been critical of dietary supplements on occasion, but there's plenty to learn from what Ms. Brody has to say."

Brody's weekly health articles reach millions of readers through more than 100 newspapers, including The New York Times, and have covered such issues as quality control in dietary supplements and the efficacy of glucosamine.

"Our industry will need to pass the scrutiny of those [as discerning as] her before our offerings will become a staple of mainstream medicine," Sorkin said. "We expect Jane Brody's presentation will offer a guideline for where we'll need to go from here in order to do just that."

The exhibition hall at SupplySide East, produced by Virgo Publishing, will open at noon, May 8. Additional information the show is available at www.supplysideshow.com; for more about Traco Labs/SKW Bioactives, visit www.tracolabs.com.
