WASHINGTON—The Council for Responsible Nutrition (www.CRNusa.org) announced Robert Krueger, Ph.D., professor of pharmacognosy at Ferris State University, Big Rapids, Mich., will spend his sabbatical with CRN from August to December 2007. Krueger will work with CRN’s staff to increase awareness and education about botanical research and plant-based dietary supplements; he will also speak during CRN’s annual conference, scheduled for Oct. 3 to 6 in Scottsdale, Ariz.

In addition, CRN is seeking a full-time, permanent scientist specializing in botanicals to replace Robert Borris, Ph.D., who accepted the position of associate dean of research at the University of Hawaii’s School of Pharmacy several months ago. “We are delighted to have Dr. Krueger with us during his sabbatical and we are committed to strengthening our role in the botanicals area by bringing on a full-time botanical expert,” said Steve Mister, CRN’s president and CEO.
