PURAC Announces Price Increases

LINCONSHIRE, Ill.PURAC increased the prices for its lactic acid, lactates, gluconic acid and gluconate product categories. Price increases will be applied worldwide and will range from 5 to 10 percent, depending upon the product. The new prices will be effective Oct. 8, 2007, or as sales contracts allow. According to the company, it is working on innovative and cost-effective solutions to address the cost pressures, but higher costs for carbohydrates, energy, auxiliary chemicals and packaging forced the current rate increase.
