NEW YORK—A recent USA Today article examined casual dining restaurants’ need for change. As the sinking economy keeps consumers home, casual dining restaurants are feeling the pinch. In order to attract customers, the industry needs to “rethink, retrench, re-price, redesign and even re-imagine,” USA Today reported. The article recommends that casual dining restaurants reduce their quantity of stores, stand out with unique offerings and improve old ones, offer lower prices, and improve service.
