Sabinsa Gains New ForsLean® Patent

PISCATAWAY, N.J.—Sabinsa Corp. was awarded a Canadian patent (No. 2281562) covering the use and preparation of Coleus forskohlii extract, available from Sabinsa as the branded ingredient ForsLean®. The active compound in ForsLean, forskolin, has been shown to increase lean body mass and optimize body composition in a number of studies, including eight clinical trials commissioned by Sabinsa. ForsLean is already covered under U.S. (No. 5,804,596) and European (No. 0977564) patents for the use of forskolin as a weight management ingredient. Other international patents are pending.
