GREEN BAY, Wis.—All outstanding shares of Enzymatic Therapy, based here, are being acquired by Springville, Utah-based Nature’s Way Holding Co., a subsidiary of Karlsruhe, Germany-based Dr. Willmar Schwabe Pharmaceuticals. North Castle Partners LLC, Greenwich, Conn., the controlling shareholder of Enzymatic Therapy, agreed to the transaction, which was advised by Lincoln International and is subject to shareholder approval.

Schwabe was founded in 1866 and now comprises six companies in Germany with more than 20 subsidiaries and joint ventures around the world. It acquired Nature’s Way, which was founded by Ken Murdock in 1968, in 1999. Enzymatic Therapy is now the umbrella organization for four formerly separate dietary supplement companies, which were merged by North Castle Partners under the Enzymatic brand in 2000.

Dr. Dirk Reischig, chairman and CEO, Schwabe, said: “We are very delighted that Enzymatic Therapy Inc. joins the Schwabe group of companies. We do believe that the complementary product portfolios and marketing know-how of Enzymatic Therapy and Nature's Way will significantly strengthen our presence in the U.S. market, which is one of Schwabe’s strategic key markets for future growth. Natural health care solutions will become increasingly important over the next few decades. The joined forces of Enzymatic Therapy, Nature’s Way and Schwabe will therefore contribute significantly to consumers in the USA and abroad in achieving the best possible health and quality of life.”
