CHICAGOSilliker Inc., an international network of accredited food testing and consulting laboratories, is adding new locations and growing its scope of services to better serve dietary supplement manufacturers worldwide.

Silliker strategically positioned a testing laboratory in Utah, where it currently operates a dietary supplement testing Center. Capabilities at the Utah lab include chemical testing for nutritional ingredients, botanicals and economic adulterants. The Utah lab has been nationally recognized for its work on the allicin bioavailability of garlic products. Silliker is now focused on expanding its chemical testing potential to serve selected target markets including dietary supplements.

Silliker also recently announced the start of construction on a new laboratory in Crete, Ill., one of south suburban Chicagos fastest growing industrial and commercial centers. This center will house the research and development activities of Silliker in addition to a commercial testing laboratory. When completed mid 2012, the 71,000-sq.-ft. facility will be one of the largest food testing laboratories in the United States. In response to industry demands for more advanced chemistry services for contaminants and nutritionals, the new operation will heavily invest in the latest analytical tools and technologies.

The Crete laboratory will be our most sophisticated building and will serve as a blueprint for future Silliker developments both here and abroad," said Johannes Burlin, president of Silliker North America. Our new state-of-the-art facility will enhance our ability to deliver practical and innovative solutions to companies throughout the food supply chain."
