Solae Co. Consolidates Operations, Replaces Exec

ST. LOUISThe Solae Co. is consolidating its headquarters,administrative and research operations from Ft. Wayne, Ind., into St. Louis. Thecompany expects the transition to take up to one year, and will offer only halfof its 130 Ft. Wayne employees the option to relocate. The company worked withstate and local governments in both locations to determine the best economicdecisionto maintain separate locations or consolidate operations. In theend, our analysis indicated that consolidating operations in St. Louis was thebest economic option for the company, our customers and our stockholders,said Terry Fox, chief financial officer of Solae (www.solae.com).

In additional news, Tony L. Arnold joined the company as president and chiefexecutive officer (CEO), following the resignation of Stephan B. Tanda. Arnoldwas previously vice president of marketing for DuPonts Ag & Nutritionbusiness. Erik Fyrwald, vice president of DuPonts Nutrition and Healthoperations, will continue to serve as chairman of Solaes board of directors.

Tonys background in general management and marketing will help usimmensely as The Solae Company accelerates the marketing of our many plant-basedproteins to developers of a wide range of consumer products, Fyrwald said.At the same time, we are grateful for Stephans many contributions to ourorganization and wish him well.
