SPB Expands Ops, Celebrates Anniversary

NAPLES, Fla.As it celebrated its 15th year in business, Saw Palmetto Berries Co-op of Florida Inc. (SPB) increased its capacity for manufacturing and drying by 6,000 square feet, expanding its operations into 22,000 square feet for production drying, grinding and storage. SPB also has an additional 8,000 square feet with long-term storage capacity for its control station for collecting fresh berries in Immokalee, Fla.; the station can hold more than 1.9 million whole dried berries. The company now has the capability of drying more than 8 million pounds of fresh fruit per season.

In additional news, SPB (www.SawPalmettoCo-op.com) is now working exclusively with Gee Lawson as its European distributor for all of its saw palmetto products, including its trademarked premium CO2 extract. Its supercritical CO2 amber gold premium 90-93 percent fatty acid product exceeds USP standards for saw palmetto extract. Gregory P.
