Standard Process Gives Scholarships to Chiropractic Students

PALMYRA, Wis.Four chiropractic students were each awarded a $2,500 scholarship from Standard Process Inc. at the fifth annual National Chiropractic Legislative conference (NCLC) held last month.

Three students from Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, Minn., received scholarships: Heidi Henson,; Steven Huybrecht and Brandon Mickelson. The fourth winner was Nicholas Maio, a student at New York Chiropractic College in Seneca Falls, N.Y.

Forty-five applications total from 12 different colleges were submitted for this scholarship, which included a 500-word essay on patient compliance and how to  guide a patient struggling to follow their nutritional protocol. An independent panel of four reviewers judged the essays.

Standard Process has awarded more than $10 million in scholarships for educational outreach to involve current and future health care professionals in the study of whole food nutrition.

Last March, the company announced one new hire and two promotions, adding to its team of more than 300 employees. Jennifer Ecker or Erin, Wis. will act as the company's new application support specialist, validating compliance with government agencies.
