Al Franken Delivers Keynote

Humorist Al Franken delivered a topical political keynote during SupplySideWest last month. The keynote was sponsored by Traco Labs/SKW Bioactives, andattracted a crowd of nearly 400 people. A political humorist, well-known for hisbook Rush Limbaugh is a Big Fat Idiot: and Other Observations, no one wasexcluded from being the butt of a good joke, whether it was a Republican,Democrat, Reformist or Green Party member.

Franken divulged that some of his favorite moments in his career haveincluded working with Dana Carvey, Phil Hartman and Jon Lovitz while on SaturdayNight Live. One of his biggest roles on the show--as Stuart Smalley--turnedinto a book, as well as a movie. A few fans at SupplySide, after saying it was"for a friend," asked for his autograph for the Stuart Smalley booksthey were carrying.

"We were thrilled at the excellent turnout at the address and theexcellent response to Al," said Harlee Sorkin, director of marketing atTraco Labs. "He provided a great amount of comic relief for a very closepresidential race. Having him speak at SupplySide could not have beentimelier."
