SAN JOSE, Calif.Thermo Fisher Scientific introduced the Dionex ERS 500, a next generation ion chromatography suppressor to help make ion chromatography a mainstream technique.

The  Thermo Scientific Dionex ERS 500 Electrolytically Regenerated Suppressor, an update from The Dionex SRS, minimizes dispersion to deliver higher resolution separations. In addition, the new suppressor permits improved compatibility with a wider range of detection techniques, including MS, ICP and ICP-MS, due to its improved backpressure resilience. The Dionex ERS 300 suppressor precludes the need for periodic chemical regeneration, allowing for greater ease of use and reproducibility.

Eluent suppression technology allows for a wide variety of inorganic and organic analyses for ion chromatography applications, including: environmental, high-purity water, semiconductor, high-purity chemicals, food and beverage, pharmaceutical and process monitoring. Suppression enhances signal-to-noise ratio by decreasing the background conductivity of the eluent and associated noise while increasing analyte conductivity.

The Dionex ERS 500 has a new hardware design that allows the suppressor to be more pressure tolerant than previous devices. Its  flow pathway has been redesigned to optimize band dispersion and improve the flow and sealing properties. This new design significantly improves ruggedness without sacrificing performance or ease-of-use.

Other products recently introduced by Thermo Fisher include the UHPLC Liquid Junction Kit, Syncronis HPLC Column and  TSQ 8000 GC-MS System.
