Thorne Research Donates $500,000 to Naturopathic College

TEMPE, Ariz.--The Southwest College ofNaturopathic Medicine & Health Sciences here received a $500,000 donationfrom Thorne Research in Seattle. The donation, the largest single donation inthe history of the college, will fund the newly created Environmental MedicineCenter of Excellence.

Thorne Research (www.thorne.com)will be the only nutraceutical company partner in the new endeavor, with otherfunds coming from government, foundations and corporations outside of thealternative medicine field. The college (www.scnm.edu)plans to set up a 2002-2003 post-doctoral program in environmental medicine tobegin in October 2002.
