ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla.—Tree of Life Inc. acquired Organica USA, a privately-owned distributor of organic and select specialty foods, based in Miami. Organica carries and distributes organic, natural and specialty foods from more than 100 manufacturers to customers throughout South Florida and the Florida Keys.

“We are excited to be able to unlock the additional value of Organica USA through our sales, distribution and category management network,” said Richard Lane, chief executive officer (CEO) of Tree of Life (www.treeoflife.com). “This acquisition further boosts our position as a full-service organic and natural supplier.”

Scott DeNight, president of Organica, said: “As a competitor, we have always respected Tree of Life’s management and employee groups. We are very excited to be joining the new Tree of Life team. Organica USA customers will benefit greatly from Tree of Life’s large variety of natural and specialty items and distribution capabilities.”

Due to the already existing strategic alignment of the enterprises, the integration of Organica into Tree of Life has been extremely efficient and took effect immediately. In fact, as of April 23, 2007, all Organica-related orders began processing through the Tree of Life customer service center and distribution network.
