Building Trust, Clarity and Confidence to Promote the Public Health

ROCKVILLE, Md.--USP recently announced the availability of its comprehensive dietary supplement verification program. Products that meet program requirements will carry a distinctive USP certification mark on the label. The mark represents that products contain the labeled ingredients in the designated amount, that they are manufactured in a quality environment, and that known contaminants are within acceptable levels. Forouz Ertl, DVM, vice president of the dietary supplement verification program, will detail the program elements, including the review by USP expert committees, testing of product samples, inspection of manufacturing sites for GMP compliance, testing for dissolution/disintegration and other monograph requirements, and inspection of manufacturing, QA and QC data.

The VendorWorks presentation will be given Tuesday, May 7, from 8 to 8:50 a.m. at SupplySide East. For additional information, visit www.usp.org or Booth #1101.
