THE WOODLANDS, TexasZMC-USA announced its parent company, Zhejiang Medicine Co. Ltd., was granted the U.S. Pharmacopeia’s (USP) verification mark for its coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) and beta-carotene USP grade ingredients. As part of USP’s Verified Dietary Supplement Ingredients Program, USP conducted a GMP (good manufacturing practice) audit on-site in Zhejiang Province, China, reviewing the company’s manufacturing and quality control (QC) documentation, and randomly testing chosen lots for quality compliance.USP’s verification of ZMC-manufactured CoQ10 and beta-carotene confirms the ingredients tested are consistent in quality from batch to batch; meet label or certificate of analysis claims for identity, strength, purity and quality; and are prepared in accordance with accepted GMPs. ZMC also noted it is the first supplier to receive USP verification of CoQ10 and beta-carotene.“This important respected third party verification underscores the belief that excellence and confidence are foremost considerations in all aspects of ZMC’s manufacturing and sales process,” said Scott Steinford, president, ZMC-USA. “Customers are increasingly requiring the knowledge that the products they purchase are truly of the high quality and manufactured according to rigorous standards. The USP Verified Dietary Supplement Ingredients Program reinforces this message to our customers in a way no internally produced message possibly could. The key to any quality ingredient is how the product is made and not simply where it is made. The trust and confidence consumers can feel from the USP verification is truly representative of the overall mission ZMC seeks to achieve on a daily basis.”
