Velvet Independent Processors Conducting Studies on Velvet Antler

WILKIE, Saskatchewan---Velvet Independent Processors Ltd. (VIP) has teamed up with the University of Saskatchewan Department of Medicine to conduct human studies on the benefits of velvet antler. According to VIP, the studies will test velvet on various liver conditions; it also hopes to test the effects on arthritis in conjunction with the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH) next year.

VIP is the largest processor of elk velvet antler in North America, and consigns its antler through membership contracts with farmers across North America. VIP manufactures velvet capsules and liquid extract for several brands, including AnVel™.
