Weber & Weber Receives Patent

WINDERMERE, Fla.Weber & Weber USA announced the company was issued U.S. Patent No. 6,551,626, Composition containing pyrrolizidinealkaloid- free petasites. The patent discusses development of a pharmaceutical composition of butterbur (Petasites hybridus) and its use for treatment of pollinosis, dysmenorrhea, eczema and psoriasis. The company noted it has a pending patent application covering use of the extract (as PETADOLEX) for treatment of a wide variety of indications, including migraines.
