Zuellig Group Acquires Premium Processing

LONG BEACH, Calif.ZuelligGroup North America (ZGNA), the holding company for the North Americaninvestments of Zuellig Nutritional Group (ZGNI), acquired Long Island, N.Y.-based Premium Performance Ingredients (PPI). ZGNA said it acquired PPI to expandZGNAs manufacturing capabilities and North American manufacturing andprocessing presence. The company also said the acquisition permits ZGNA to offercustomers value-added manufacturing and processing capabilities in addition toingredients, creating one-stop shopping for the development and manufacture ofnew products.

We have been looking for the opportunity to expand ourvalue-added manufacturing capabilities and increase our presence on the EastCoast, said David Turner, chairman of ZGNA.

With the acquisition of this business we will be able tooffer our customers improved service and novel products, includingdrum-to-hopper solutions. PPI has an excellent reputation for its ability toprovide a wide range of value-added solutions to customers in the nutraceutical,pharmaceutical and food industries. PPI shares the same quality philosophy,image and values as ZGNI. Existing PPI customers will continue to enjoy the sameexcellent customer service while benefiting from access to increased purchasingpower and sourcing capabilities.

ZGNI is looking to increase manufacturing and processingcapabilities on the West Coast in the near future, the company said in arelease. ZGNI also said it is enhancing its capabilities in China by addingadditional steam sanitization capacity and herbal powder manufacturing.
