More than 230 golfers braved chilly, windy weather for the 10th Annual SupplySide West Golf Classic, sponsored by Pharmachem Laboratories. Foursomes filled the Snow Mountain and Sun Mountain courses at Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort, where they enjoyed the informal networking opportunity, worked on their chip shots and vied for one of several prizes.

At a clubhouse luncheon following play, Dick Beitel, vice president of sales at Pharmachem, presented trophies to the top three teams on each course, as well as to individual players for Longest Drive and Closest-to-the- Pin. Raffle prizes, including Titleist clubs, FootJoy shoes and Callaway sunglasses, also were awarded. “My personal opinion is that SupplySide West is the best event in our industry,” Beitel said. “We’re pleased to be a part of this event, and we’re especially pleased to help kick it off with this amazing golf tournament.”

On the Snow Mountain course, a playoff resulted in a first place score of 58 for the team of Ken Bender and John Musselman, GTC Nutrition; and Chuck Wach and Matt Larsen, Nature’s Sunshine Products. Second place went to Keith Hensley, Formulation Technology; Brick Chambers, Seventeen Plus; and Jerry Cochern and Roy Nelson, Pure Essence Labs. In third place, with a score of 59, was the foursome of Dean Mosca, Lou Mosca and Larry Buzzard, Proprietary Nutritional; and Kaare Axelsen, Acceptus.

Individual bests on the Snow Mountain course included Shirley Rozenboom, Stauber Performance Ingredients, and Todd Benney, Asset Crossing, for longest drive. Sue Lampley, Vita Tech International, Inc., and Bill Williams, Actives International LLC, made it closest-to-the-pin on Hole #8.

On the Sun Mountain course, in first place, with a score of 64 plus a playoff win, was the threesome of Earle Nestmann, Cantox Health Sciences; Zack Bybee, UST Corp; and Jim Johnson, Nutritional Lifelines. Second place went to the team of Scott Backman and Mike Fisher, Cognis Nutrition & Health; David Huesgen, Reliv International; and Dean Baltzell, Merical Vita-Pak. In third place, with a score of 66, was the threesome of Leo Cullen, Chris Nolte and Bill Redwood, LycoRed Corp.

Longest drive trophies for the Sun Mountain course were awarded to Becky Wright, Nutraceuticals World, and Tory Jacob, Designs for Health. Closest-tothe- pin honors went to Kristina Williams, Cevena Bioproducts Inc., and Peter Huai, Pharmore Ingredients.
