PHOENIX—Informa, one of the world’s leading knowledge providers to individuals, businesses and organizations, announced its Health & Nutrition brands as finalists in four categories for the 2014 min Editorial & Design Awards.

The annual Editorial & Design Awards program, hosted by min, honors excellence in content and design among consumer, business-to-business (B2B) and specialized information media brands, and it is judged by a panel of editors, designers and consultants.

Informa’s Health & Nutrition Finalists Include:

·         Editorial Print: Print/Online Coverage of a Single Topic: Natural Products INSIDER – 20th Anniversary of DSHEA

·         Online: Special Section/Microsite (Continuous Content): Natural Products INSIDER – Dietary Supplement GMP Quality and Compliance Center

·         Online: Digital Magazine Edition: SupplySide Boardroom Journal – A World Without Hidden Hunger

·         Online: Website RedesignFood Product Design

“We’re up against prestigious brands in these categories, including Time, People, HuffPost, Architectural Digest, Better Homes and Gardens and Consumer Reports, and it is an honor to be recognized with such leaders in the consumer and B2B publications," said Heather Granato, vice president, content, Health & Nutrition Network. “And being called out in different categories speaks to the great synergy among our various teams, from content and marketing to design and web development."

Natural Products INSIDER has been celebrating the 20th anniversary of DSHEA (the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act of 1994) online and in print by digging deeper into the law from the fight to pass it to its effects, potential threats and ways the law may be amended. These efforts resulted in being named a finalist for min’s Editorial Print: Print/Online Coverage of a Single Topic award. All of INSIDER’s online DSHEA assets, including digital issues, infographics and videos, are housed in the DSHEA 20th Anniversary Immersion Center, which gives readers a central location to view all the information on how the law effects the industry. In addition to having content online, INSIDER’s editorial team published various articles within its Natural Products INSIDER print magazine on this important topic. The DSHEA Immersion Center is underwritten by the United Natural Products Alliance (UNPA), Alkemist Labs and Natural Factors.

INSIDER’s Dietary Supplement GMP Quality and Compliance Center, selected as a finalist for min’s Online: Special Section/Microsite award, was designed to help dietary supplement brands further their education on GMPs (good manufacturing practices), meet regulations and go beyond the basics to supply safe, quality products. INSIDER partnered with NSF International, a world-wide organization that offers third-party GMP audits and certifications for supplement companies, to bring this microsite to the audience of dietary supplement manufacturers, distributors and marketers.

The SupplySide Boardroom Journal: A World without Hidden Hunger, selected as a finalist for min’s Online: Digital Magazine Edition, was developed as an online magazine for C-level executives across the food, beverage, dietary supplement and related industries to think through macro issues affecting business strategy. As companies are looking to drive CSR programs while looking at the global concerns around malnutrition and hunger, numerous organizations, researchers, inventors and more helped create an exceptionally well-rounded, comprehensive and detailed look at malnutrition and hunger. In addition to offering the digital magazine, the landing page also includes video overviews on the topic, image galleries and infographics from contributors that have helped drive additional site engagement.

In 2014, Food Product Design took steps to lead by example and invested in its online strategy with a new logo, new website and new online offerings to better serve the audience of professionals in the food and beverage industry, which resulted in being named a finalist for min’s Online: Website Redesign award. The website received a complete design overhaul based on Food Product Design’s four key areas of focus – Innovation, Ingredients, Science and Compliance. With blogs, digital issues, galleries, a new member resource section and the FoodTech Toolbox, Food Product Design is serving this vibrant category like no other in the market.

The winner’s and honorable mentions will be announced at an awards breakfast on November 19, 2014, from 8 to 10 a.m. at the Yale Club in New York City. To see a full list of min’s Editorial & Design Awards Finalists, click here or visit http://www.minonline.com/editanddesignawards/2014finalists/.
